The Fairlawn Inn, a Hunter Mountain bed & breakfast, the #1 Inn in New York by the New York State Hospitality & Tourism Association for 2010. We are 3 Leaf Eco-Rated by Audubon International and continue to strive for a higher rating. This Catskills B&B was completely restored and now offers luxurious accommodations and amenities. This Victorian home features the art and personality of the Innkeeper, an individual with over 30 years in the hospitality industry.

The Inn features nine bedrooms all with private en-suite baths, queen sized beds, TVs and DVD players. Several rooms have fireplaces and one has a two person Jacuzzi. It also features four common area rooms, gardens and many porches where you can relax. If sitting on the porch is not your style, you may hike, bike, ski, snowshoe, antique, fine dine or take advantage of the many cultural opportunities that present themselves in the Catskills and Hudson Valley for your enjoyment. There are many activities that you can participate in within walking distance, including Hunter Mountain. The inn, nestled in the Catskills area popularized by the Hudson River School of Painters, has some of the most magnificent scenery on the East Coast.

The Hunter area was the first tourism destination in the US for NYC residents as they sought a cool summer escape from the city. At one time the town of Hunter had the distinction of having the most hotels in the WORLD! The town at that time was host to many presidents, Mark Twain and other famous and infamous individuals drawn by the spectacular scenery like Kaaterskill Falls and what is now North South Lake State Park. It is also the former site of the Catskill Mountain House, one of the hundreds of hotels aforementioned. The Fairlawn was a private home at that time but has been restored for you to use as your own when visiting this historic area.

We are surrounded by Catskill State Park, the first legislated State Park in the country that will remain forever wild. It has been immortalized in Hudson River School Paintings. Come tour the art trail, our wineries and breweries, remain active in the multitude of sports activities or walk to our quaint village and browse the galleries, bookstore, old fashioned hardware store, pubs, delis or theatres. Enjoy your full cooked to order breakfast in the sunny breakfast room or just relax on one of the porches with a great book and nice bottle of wine.
